Our August Wine of the Month is the 2025 Elicio Rouge IGP Méditerranée.

Hailing from the southern side of the renowned Rhône Valley in southeastern France, the Elicio Rouge consists of a pleasing blend of grapes common to the region. It has an even balance of Merlot and Syrah, with some grenache added for good measure. The blend is as follows:
– 39% Merlot
– 39% Syrah
– 22% Grenache

These grapes were planted among two distinct soil types, both common in the southern Rhone: red earth formed from limestone erosion and another soil of clay and sand. These soils both are rich in minerals, and treated to warm Mediterranean days balanced with cool, breezy nights. Despite an uneven growing season in 2025, diligent harvesting allowed the ripe and eager grapes to mellow into a blend with both depth and accessibility.

Tasting notes from the winemakers:
“Expressive aromas of ripe red and black fruits, licorice, and
sweet spice. The palate is smooth and juicy, featuring soft,
well-integrated tannins and a generous core of fruit. Balanced
and approachable, this wine offers both substance and easy-drinking charm.”

Food pairing options: Caesar salad, burgers, fried wings, and pizza are all options to eat alongside this bright and smooth wine.

Regularly $20.99, for the month of August it will be $15.99.

We hope you enjoy our Wine of the Month.
