Our July Wine of the Month is the 2023 Chateau Pey La Tour.

Bordeaux, France is known for their red blends, typically of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and sometimes Malbec and Carmenere. This wine from Chateau Pey La Tour is no different. Their blend includes:
– 77% Merlot
– 11% Cabernet Sauvignon
– 7% Cabernet Franc
– 2% Petit Verdot

Planted on diverse soils of clay-limestone, small pebbles held in clay, and sandy-clay, the grapes are harvested plot by plot and sorted on the machine. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats before being aged for 12 months.

Tasting notes from the chief winemaker, Frédéric Bonnaffous:
“Attractive ruby red colour. The rich bouquet develops notes of fresh red fruits (raspberries and fresh blackberries). Initially round on the palate, the wine reveals a juicy and aromatic palate, underpinned by delicate tannins. The well-balanced wine reveals fruity note and culminates in a savoury and fresh finish.”
Food pairing options: Delicatessen, red or white meat (roasted beef, Petit Salé with lentils…), poultry, meat and vegetables pies, cheese.

Regularly $24.99, for the month of July it will be $16.99.

We hope you enjoy our Wine of the Month.
